Host Chapter:  Pikes Peak Chapter (PPC)

 

Convention Lodging:  USAFA Rampart Lodge (reservations 719-472-1940)

20 rooms held; room cost depends upon military rank, reasonable rates.

This facility is adjacent to the USAFA Falcon Club.

1830 Hours - CCoC State Convention Kickoff Informal Dinner
Biaggi’s Ristorante Italino, 1805 Briargate Parkway in Colorado Springs. 
 

SATURDAY, 29 APRIL 2017

0930 – 1130 Hours - CCoC Convention Sign In:  in the Lobby of the Falcon Club.  Light refreshments available in the sign-in area (courtesy of USAA).

0930-1130 Hours - In person registration (with prior meal reservation) in the Lobby of the Falcon Club.  Payment for meals due at time of registration.  No cost for program registration only (no meals).

0930 - 1100 Hours - CCoC Board Meeting in a designated room of the Falcon Club (separate agenda will be sent to CCoC Board and Chapter Officers)

1130-1330 Hours - CCoC Convention Luncheon (Hosted by PPC) in the designated dining room of the Falcon Club.  

Pledge of Allegiance and Welcome by PPC President Maj. Carl Nasatka, USA (FMR) and CCoC VP CAPT Dick Smith, USN (R).

Luncheon Speaker: Lt. Col. Shane Ostrom, USAF (R), CFP - Deputy Director, MOAA National Transition Center.

“Financial Planning/Considerations with the New Military Retirement System.” 

1330-1400 Hours - Break

PROGRAM

 

1400 – 1500 Hours – Program Sessions Part One Breakout Meeting Rooms to be assigned  

Program A - Informational Presentation by USAA

Program B - Colorado Military Related Legislative Update led by CCoC Past President

Lt. Col. Shelly Kalkowski, USAF (R) and Representative Terri Carver (Colorado House District 20).

 

1500 – 1530 Hours - Refreshment Break Refreshments courtesy of USAA

 

1530 – 1630 Hours – Program Sessions Part Two Breakout Meeting Rooms to be assigned.  

Program C - “Family and Estate Financial Planning” presented by Lt. Col. Shane Ostrom, USAF (R)

Program D - Update on new Veterans Administration Programs: the new Denver VA Hospital and new VA Cemetery in southern Colorado.

EVENING SOCIAL HOUR AND DINNER

Dinner cancelled due to snow storm and hazardous travel conditions

1730 – 1830  - Social Hour - Cash Bar at the Falcon Club

1830 - Bagpipe Call to Dinner - Piper: Col. Jim Ling, USAF (R), and former MOAA Northern Colorado Chapter President.

 

1830 - 2100 Hours - CCoC State Convention Annual Dinner

Dinner Speaker - (tentative) Bob McLaughlin on the “Mount Caramel Center of Excellence” in Colorado Springs. This Center supports transitioning veterans and their family members by implementing both individual and group wellness programs.
